Managing Director

Having spent the majority of his career at global broker Aon - Duncan joined TLO in 2009, and has worked with Vernon as part of TLO's barristers team for the last five years.

Latterly at Aon, Duncan ran their Birmingham office, one of the most successful offices in the UK encompassing a team of over 50 people, and servicing many household names and £billion pound organisations.  Previous experience has also included specialist insurer Hiscox plc.

Duncan is also responsible for day to day operations at TLO.

Director

Founder of TLO, Vernon has over 30 years experience in the Insurance industry.

Starting his career in the city at C.E.Heath, he subsequently joined the Sedgwick Group, before moving to SBJ.

Early on in his career, Vernon began to specialise in Professional Indemnity Insurance. This specialist knowledge and experience has led him to work for a broad range of professional clients; including City of London law firms, international surveyors, and major trading platforms.

In 1996, Vernon launched TLO in London's West End, where the firm quickly became recognised as a niche player in the Professional Indemnity market.

Director

Michael joined TLO after a hugely successful 30 year career in the insurance industry. He spent nearly 15 years at global broker Aon, most recently as their Head of UK Professions business. Michael subsequently moved to JLT Specialty, to establish a London market PI division, before moving to WillisTowers Watson to assist in the development of their professional services division.

Michael has been involved in the account management, acquisition and broking of a broad range of sophisticated retail professional service firm clients, including various ‘magic circle’ firms. He has also been instrumental in developing major insurance schemes, facilities and overseas solutions.

Finance Manager

Becky heads up the finance department at TLO. Her career to date spans over 12 years working in finance within both commercial and insurance sectors. 

Becky joined underwriting agency Primary Broker Services in the early stages of its development (latterly Primary General) supporting through a period of intense and rapid growth from one to seven sites. Becky furthered her career as Management Accountant with acquisitions broker Cullum Capital Ventures covering the Midlands region.

More recently administrating the finances for No5 Chambers in Birmingham (a highly regarded large set of Barristers Chambers with four sites) Becky’s experience provides a unique understanding of our clients and insurer partners business.

Client Executive

Nicole joined TLO following a 10 year career in Insurance working for global insurer AIG and then global broker Willis Group (now Willis Towers Watson). Her previous positions include Financial Lines Underwriter specialising in Directors & Officers Insurance, and Client Service Executive handling speciality accounts for Insolvency Practitioners and also Corporate and Multinational Accounts.

Nicole is dedicated to providing a helpful, friendly and knowledgeable service to clients and ensuring that they receive the most appropriate advice and support.
